Press Releases: June 24, 2003
Hi guys, it's me again.
Time to update you on stuff from here in south Louisiana, the home of serial killers, snipers and Jymalot Music.
You wouldn't believe how fast the grass grows and how much time I have to give to mowing, doing flower beds, things like that. And there's work all week, places to go, people to see, more to do than there is time for. So, what does that mean? Right. Not much Jymalot Music time.
But, (here's where you fans can scream!) Jymalot Music has put down the basic tracks on a new song. "I Am Not Here." Oh, it's a good one, heavy on questioning what's real and what's not, am I alive or dreaming, live or virtual, Matrix or not. Set to minor chords, acoustic, haunting. Hopefully, you'll hear it soon right here. So far, not too many folks have heard it. Well, I heard it. I think that's it.
Got some new strings on the Applause. Actually, they weren't new. I bought them several years ago, but didn't need them. When I did need them, it was nice to have them already, and not have to go to the music store and buy them, what with the traffic and all. When I strung them on, I broke the bottom string, thank goodness I still had a good bottom string among the old strings, so I used that. So, none of the stings on there now are new and the bottom string is really not new. Exciting, huh?
Have you ever heard of a Kildeer? It's a bird. One laid four eggs in the middle of our front yard. No nest, no nothing, just four eggs in the middle of the yard. Momma Kildeer just sat there for a month. I can't believe other critters didn't get her and her eggs. And, luckily, I saw her sitting there and didn't run over it all with the mower. For a month, I mowed around her. Well, the eggs hatched and these baby Kildeers went running around the front yard. They hatch, then start running. Can't fly, but run like hell. Anyway, they are still there after two weeks. I think they can fly now, if they want. I hope they stay around. They are cool.
Have you ever counted the number of times Bruce Springsteen screams into the mike, "born in the USA…." ? I mean, Go USA and all, I have a flag out front and Stacie has cousins in Iraq (shoot some of the enemy, guys), but, geez Bruce, shut the hell up.
Went to a few LSU baseball games, thanks to Robinitta. Unless you've done that (the game, not Robinitta), you do not know what a real program is about. Top of the line, indeed. Go Tigers. We lost at the College World Series, but care to bet on next year? I'll be glad to take your money.
Hope things have been exciting for you Jymalot Music fans, too. Let me take a moment to thank a few of the people who have kept things interesting for me the past year (Hey, it IS my website). There's Court, Staci and Mike, Bridgette and Robbie, the neighbors, Princess, some of the guys at work, the in-laws, the Boucher Bunch, Hi Mom, the in-crowd at Stacie's office, Helen and Bob, Sid, TT, and the Secret Few.
