Press Releases: June 23, 2006
The House That Jymalot Music Built now belongs to someone else.
Yep, I sold it. I miss a lot about that place. The kildeers! Geez, I forgot to tell the new owner to be careful when he mows not to run over a kildeer nest. Dang! Somebody remind me to call the fella and tell him. Anyway, that's The Big Deal that's been happening this past Fall and Winter. Sold the house, and bought another house down by the river. Got a big, screened porch that runs along the back of the house, it sits up high above the water. I walk down the stairs along the bulkhead boardwalk, down to the boat slip, jump on one of my jet skis and zero to sixty, like, right now.
I have some friends down on the river who help me contend with my unwanted solitude. They are fun. We'll get some pictures of the new house and such on the website. Crystal of CLM WebDesigns still has a hold of the band and she'll post them for you fans. Can't live without her. She and her friend, Steph, came and visited me awhile back for a long weekend. It was a blast. They ate crawfish, went dancing, riding the party barge, drinking, they ate fried catfish, fried alligator, went drinking, riding the jet skis, drinking and we all went drinking.
Speaking of CLM, I keep telling her, "go on, give YOUR fans a treat, some pictures, some interesting Things About Crystal, you know, a page about you." She agrees it would be fun, but no page yet. I'll keep trying to convince her because I know MY fans want it. I think some of MY fans visit the site just to see Crystal. She is better looking than me, I'll admit. And smarter.
But, everyone is.
Sooo, no new Jymalot Music CDs to tell you about, although the band is progressing with about 10 original songs and a few covers, and I'd say we are ready to get serious. Just a lack of time that keeps us out of the studio. Don't fret, though, we will MAKE time in the next few months and get the job done. The next CD will have some heavier, electric stuff…. one called "Teenagers Are Stupid" (‘cause they are) and another called, "Phuckwitcling." (know what I'm sayin', you piece of shit?) A bit of emotion to expel, I'd say, but a couple of dreamy acoustic originals will counter, along with a weird piano cover of Chris Isaak's hit from way back. Got you all squirming with anticipation, huh?
By the way, the studio is new, too, along with the house. A nice setup for sure, conducive to making music. Really, the new studio is a closet with some shelves that all the recording stuff is packed in to. Haven't turned it all on yet to see if it still works. Cross your fingers.
I'll set a release date right here and now on the next Jymalot Music CD, to, ummmm, let's say before the end of the year. Okay, let's say maybe Thanksgiving. Yeah, Thanksgiving. It'll be good for the holiday season sales.
Speaking of sales, a bunch of people have the last CD, "Robin's Nest." That could be because sales exploded, globally. Or, it could mean I gave a bunch of them away. This one girl, DeeDee, she did pay for a CD. I only took a dollar for it. Then I framed it, and now it's on the wall in the new studio. Professional.
People that listen to one of the CDs usually say they like Jymalot Music. Then they don't talk about it anymore. I get that a lot. But, hey, Otis Redding was unknown, nothing, for years and years, really until he died. Then he got big. Janis Joplin, too. Mega, AFTER she died. Even Jim Morrison. Hey, maybe I should….. never mind.
Okay, well, not much else to report to you guys. Thanks for your support and for listening to Jymalot Music. And thanks to my friends and the special ones, they know who they are, for the kisses and hugs. Later.
