Relocate

JYM Records, in association with the marketing division of Fayth Productions, announces the late Summer of 2010 release of Jymalot Music’s newest CD, Relocate. The 18th release from Jymalot Music and the first work recorded in the new studios at MyjStudios AL in north Alabama, it’s a CD of 11 original songs from gifted and prolific songwriter, Jym.

Relocate is loaded with the ‘relationship songs’ prevalent on most Jymalot Music recordings, heavy with emotion, but features more pace and mid-tempo music. There is even the peppy, almost gleeful, “Ring On My Finger,” (but, did a door slam as the song began?), and an almost rap sound on the controversial, “I’m Just Sayin’.” The thought-provoking title track, reflective of the band’s relocation last year from south Louisiana to north Alabama, questions how we are all defined… by ourselves, others, or maybe by just where we are. “I wrote that song alone in a vacuum, in one sitting, since I have no friends, family or anyone to talk to here. Nobody even emails me anymore,” said Jym, pouting like a baby.

The new CD, dedicated to Helen, is 40 minutes of deep, emotional, sweet acoustics with a sincere lyrical effort and solid presentation. As is often the case, Jym’s songs are full of double meanings, subtle misdirection and lyrical paths that take listeners on introspective adventures, originally Jym‘s, but now their own. Musically, the band sticks to strong, acoustic guitar work, with clever and interesting rhythms. Early critical comments include, “that‘s a good one,” and “no, don‘t change that at all.”

“My songwriting gets better and better, and so does this band. Overall, Relocate is our best work to date,” said Jym.

He always says stuff like that. But if you’d like to find out for yourself, email us here at jymalot@yahoo.com or just ask Jym for a CD. He’s tight with the sales and marketing people.
