At Home

A year later than planned, but the new release from Jymalot Music has arrived. Finally!

"At Home" is the 14th release from the way underground, one-man band from South Louisiana. With fourteen original songs from Jym and one cover of an obscure American folk tune performed by guests artists Pat and Olivia, the new CD offers some moments to which even the most ardent, cultish followers will respond, "What the hey?"

"I like all these songs," says Jym. "Doesn't mean anyone else will, but I like 'em." That Jym.

The thought-provoking CD begins with the sexy (and not misspelled), "Denham Jeans," featuring Jym at his vocal and acoustic best. It's followed by another acoustic number, "This Debris," reflective of what people that don't/won't/can't care, leave behind. Later, there's the electric "Billy Dedon." Says Jym, "You don't wanna be Billy Dedon. In EVERY sense, you don't wanna be Billy Dedon."

"I Am Home," maybe the best song on the CD, features a fun acoustic solo, and "One Less Moment" beautifully reflects on a lesson learned. "Gotta Damp Itch" is plugged-in insanity, (who knows what Jym was thinking on that one, OMG!), and it's followed by "Rope and Gloves and Knives," a perfect song for Neil Young, except for Jym's twisted thinking. "Neil can cover it, if he's got the nerve," says Jym. It's topped off with, "Ice Cream Sandwich." Sick.

This Christmas 2008 release follows a mid-year and unpublicized release of "One Of A Kind," Jymalot Music's 13th release, a collection of Jym's opinions of the band's best songs. "Surprisingly, there are likely more of those CDs out there than any other Jymalot Music CD, and the marketing department at JYM Records wasn't even involved in that release. Hmmm...," says Jym.
